Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil and Fluid Change Recommendations
The following information below is a general guide to what Amsoil Products
are to be used with your vehicle and the recommended fluid change intervals in
which here we will cover your engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid,
differential fluid (90% of all car owners never change their differential
fluid), and radiator fluid. Plus some extra add-ons you may want to consider to
help improve the performance and life span of your vehicle.
Cars and Light Trucks (Gasoline Based Engines)
AMSOIL OIL FILTERS:
- Oil Filters: Amsoil stocks two different brands of oil filters
for all car and light duty (including SUVs) applications. Of course they
carry their own brand which is the new redesigned EA
Oil Filters. Their supplemental line for all vehicles in which they do
not make an EA Oil Filter is made by a company
called Wix. Wix Oil Filters
are also made to high quality and stringent standards. They just lack the
new nanofiber technology found in all Amsoil EA Oil
Filters.
- Amsoil EA Oil Filters: The recommended change interval for all
Amsoil EA Oil Filters is 25,000 miles or one
year (whichever comes first) under normal conditions or 15,000 miles or one
year (whichever comes first) under severe conditions or heavy duty
situations.
- Wix Filters: All Wix
Oil Filters should be changed according to the manufacturers recommended
oil change interval. The only exceptions is when it is used with
Amsoil's XL (extended life) motor oils it can be changed every six
months or 7,500 miles (whichever comes first).
AMSOIL SYNTHETIC MOTOR OILS:
- Motor Oils: Amsoil makes synthetic motor oil for gasoline,
diesel, and flex fuel engines.
- Gasoline Synthetic Motor Oils: Amsoil makes two levels of motor
oils. They have their
extended life (6 month) series and their
high end (one year) series of motor oils. The extended life motor oils
should always be changed every 7,500 miles or six months (whichever comes
first) under all conditions. The high end line of Amsoil motor oils should
always be changed every 25,000 miles or one year (whichever comes first)
under normal conditions and every 15,000 miles or one year (whichever comes
first) under severe conditions.
- Diesel Engine Oil: Amsoil have three
Synthetic Diesel
Oils that qualify for the one year, 25,000 mile (15,000 for severe
service conditions) (whichever comes first) oil change program. The three
motor oils are as follows: 1) (AME)
15W-40 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil (gives the best engine
protection). 2) (HDD)
Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (more for fuel mile conscious
drivers). 3) (ACD)
Synthetic SAE30/10W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (the best value among the
three). The following
Two Diesel Oils should be changed at the longest recommended
manufacturer's oil change interval: 1) (PCO)
Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil and the 2) (DEO)
Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel & European Oil (this oil is to be changed at the
longest recommended European extended drain interval).
